National Institute for Disabled Services - Serving our community since 1984
🏛️ Establishment
The organization emerged from the National Committee formed during the 1981 International Year of Disabled Persons, which achieved local, regional, Arab, and international recognition for its foundational efforts.
On May 19, 1984, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Muhammad Al Khalifa, issued Decision No. 2 establishing the National Committee for the Disabled, tasked with developing general rehabilitation policies and proposing legislation.
On May 19, 1992, under the Social and Cultural Associations and Clubs Law, Decision No. 10 transformed the National Committee into the National Institute for Disabled Services, granting it legal status as a specialized national institution.
